Australian Visa Update: Revised South Australian State Nominated (July 2016)

Immigration SA will publish a revised State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL) on 4 July 2016 (any time from 12pm), after which new applications can be submitted.　Please note that some occupations will have revised English and work experience requirements.

Subclass 190 / 489 visa application system closingtemporarily

The application system will be closed at 9am on 30 June 2016. Applications that have not been submitted and paid by this time (including saved applications) will be deleted.

ICT occupations – offshore applicants

Immigration SA will require ffshore applicants for ICT occupations that appear on the SNOL to have a minimum of 70 points (including state nomination points) on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) "points test". This will apply to any occupation involving a skills assessment from the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Subclass 489 provisional visa

A small number of occupations appearing on the SNOL and Supplementary Skilled List will only be available for a 489 provisional visa. Applicants should ensure that they are aware of the work and residency requirements of this visa before applying.

South Australian government increase their - High Point

Due to high demand, Immigration SA will be raising the requirement for the high point category from

80 points to 85 points. This change is to still allow an avenue for high point scoring applicants.

This policy will come into eect on the 22 September 2015 and all high point applications submitted

from this date will need to meet the new requirement. Please check the web page for more detailed

information on the day. You will be able to access additional occupations (special conditions and

Supplementary Skilled List) if you have 85 points in SkillSelect (including state nomination points).

Should you require 10 points for state nomination in order to reach 85 points on the DIBP points test,

please ensure that you are aware of the conditions of the provisional 489 visa.

There are individual occupation quotas for high point nomination. To date, Marketing Specialist and

Human Resources Advisor are both now closed o for high point nomination. There is also an overall

quota for the high point category. Once this is reached, the high point category will be closed for

the remainder of the program year.

Points Test - General Skilled Migration (Australian permanent residence)

For the points based skilled migration and business innovation and investment visa programs , you will be ranked according to the appropriate points test. You will be able to submit an EOI even if you do not meet the pass mark; however, you will not be invited to apply for a visa.

It is important to remember that meeting the points test pass mark does not guarantee you an invitation to apply for a visa.

If you select the subclass 190 or 489 visa(s) you will receive the appropriate points for nomination or sponsorship. For example if you select the 190 visa subclass you will receive 5 points which will be added to your points score. Your points score based on your claims in your EOI will then be displayed before you submit your EOI.
